The College complies with the regulations of the University Grants Commission (UGC) regarding the prevention and prohibition of ragging in higher educational institutions.
Ragging is a punishable offense under UGC Regulations and applicable laws of India.
What Constitutes Ragging?
Ragging includes, but is not limited to:
- Any conduct causing physical or psychological harm.
- Teasing, bullying, or using abusive language.
- Forcing students to perform acts against their will.
- Humiliation, embarrassment, or intimidation.
- Any activity that violates the dignity of a student.
- Both direct and indirect participation in ragging are considered violations.
Anti-Ragging Measures
- The College ensures:
- Formation of an Anti-Ragging Committee.
- Awareness programs and orientation sessions for students.
- Display of anti-ragging notices on campus.
- Monitoring of vulnerable areas.
- Strict vigilance by faculty and administration.
- Students and parents are required to submit an Anti-Ragging Undertaking at the time of admission, as per UGC guidelines.
Punishment for Ragging
Students found guilty of ragging may face:
- Suspension from classes.
- Cancellation of admission.
- Debarring from examinations.
- Expulsion from the institution.
- Filing of FIR with police authorities (if required).
- Disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with UGC norms and applicable laws.
How to Report Ragging
Any student experiencing or witnessing ragging should immediately report the matter to:
- The Principal
- Anti-Ragging Committee Members
- College Administration Office
- Complaints may be submitted in writing or through official college communication channels.
