Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC)

Overview

The Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) of Sunder T.T. College is constituted to address and resolve grievances of students in a fair, transparent, and time-bound manner. The Committee functions in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to ensure that students have access to an effective institutional mechanism for grievance redressal.

Objectives

  • To provide a structured mechanism for addressing student grievances.
  • To ensure transparency and accountability in resolving complaints.
  • To safeguard student rights and promote a harmonious academic environment.
  • To prevent unfair practices and discrimination.

Scope of Grievances

The SGRC addresses issues related to:

  • Academic matters (attendance, internal assessment, examination concerns).
  • Admission-related issues.
  • Fee-related concerns.
  • Infrastructure and facility-related complaints.
  • Harassment or unfair treatment (excluding matters handled by the ICC).
  • Any other legitimate student concern affecting academic life.

Who Can File a Grievance?

Any bonafide student of the College who has a genuine grievance related to academic or administrative matters may submit a complaint to the SGRC.

Procedure for Submitting a Grievance

Students may submit their grievances through:

  • A written application addressed to the SGRC Chairperson.
  • Submission at the College office.
  • Official College email (if designated for grievance redressal).

The grievance should clearly mention:

  • Name and course of the student
  • Enrollment number
  • Nature of the complaint
  • Supporting documents (if any)

Redressal Process

Acknowledgment of the grievance.

  1. Preliminary review by the Committee.
  2. Hearing of concerned parties (if required).
  3. Resolution and communication of decision within a reasonable time frame.
  4. Maintenance of proper records of proceedings.
  5. All grievances are handled with confidentiality and impartiality.

Composition of the Committee

The SGRC typically consists of:

  1. Principal / Senior Faculty Member – Chairperson
  2. Faculty Members
  3. Administrative Representative
  4. Student Representative (if applicable).
